Automotive bulbs remain one of the fastest moving lines in the aftermarket and Ring claim their new bulb stand is helping garages to sell more.

The BU194 is an instant wall mounted stock solution for garage workshops, containing 26 of the top 12v boxed bulbs to cover 96% of the UK car park. The stand is supplied pre merchandised and ready to go. It includes 194 bulbs that are gravity fed, barcoded and E marked.

Additional marketing support is includes too. First, there’s a 12v wall chart, listing the references Ring offer with images and line drawings to make it as easy as possible to quickly identify the correct replacement.

Secondly, the E marking poster explains why it is important and how to identify a correctly E marked bulb. It’s ideal for customer waiting areas as it demonstrates a garages understanding of bulb legislation and technology.

This complete package to help garages maximise their bulb sales was developed following research by Ring at the MechanEx shows which suggested many independent garages were either not charging for replacement bulbs or charging only to cover costs.

Ring advises bulbs be itemised and charged separately as a safety critical component where quality counts. The suggestion is to benchmark selling prices against dealers and retailers to achieve £6 or £7 per headlamp bulb rather than £2 or £3.
